Stroll along an important waterway, shop, dine and listen to live music. It’s a great way to experience this popular attraction at your leisure.

With boats passing close by as you shop and dine, North Myrtle Beach’s Barefoot Landing on the Waterway is a great place to spend some of your vacation time. Browse for necessities, luxury items and souvenirs in more than 40 boutiques and national retail stores, with an excellent selection of merchandise from which to choose. Look for designer sunglasses or beachwear, surfing gear and even Christmas items.

Sample products from wineries and distilleries, visit a fine art gallery or purchase fashionable jewelry. Take the family to view alligators at one of the property’s attractions.

Kids will find plenty to do here. Bring them to the amusement rides and let them walk back and forth on the two bridges over the lagoon at the center of the complex.

Dining options satisfy practically any taste preference, with a selection of over 20 restaurants and cafés, including live music and entertainment as part of the mix.

Drop in to House of Blues for soulful rhythms or visit Alabama Theatre with Broadway-style shows. Well-known names in the music industry often perform gigs here.

The complex is located alongside the Intracoastal Waterway that runs up the Eastern Seaboard from the Gulf of Mexico to New England, with pleasure boats sailing past from ports near and far.

Include a Saturday visit to Barefoot Landing for Market Days, when merchants have sidewalk sales and other promotions. If you’re in the area during the summer you might catch a fireworks display.

From opening to closing, there’s a lively atmosphere at this location. Even if you don’t buy anything, the commercial park-like setting is a fun way to experience this part of the city.

Find Barefoot Landing about 4 miles (6 kilometers) southwest of North Myrtle Beach. Free parking is available in three separate lots. Sign up online before you arrive for a preferred member card, which provides discounts at many of the establishments.
