The room is to a decent standard. The bed is comfortable and there was a good choice of pillows. This is a really strong start as many hotels are let down in this area.
The bathroom was ok, nothing wrong and the shower water pressure was very good.
However, the room was way too warm making sleeping difficult. That’s a personal thing and would be fine in normal circumstances as the window could be opened to let fresh air in.
However, the rooms back on to where the bins are filled every evening by the staff, immediately waking you up if you managed to get to sleep.
And then, at 6.45am, every morning, a delivery arrives or the bin lorry turns up and wakes you up. Why this is considered acceptable is beyond me!
Fundamentally, this could be a decent hotel but it’s let down by things that, with a little care, would make things better.
I wouldn’t stop again
Amazing hotel. We got a nice surprise when we booked in for our anniversary. Comfortable beds, breakfast had plenty of options. Good good too.

It’s a lovely hotel and the staff are very friendly, food is good and the surroundings are lovely and pleasant
Attended for a wedding was lovely location and convenient for travel.
Only issues with room was location was noisy-close to reception, and no blinds at windows so had to keep curtains closed for privacy- staff access
Really nice stay, staff were fabulous, they even made a fuss over our dog. Food was fab also. The only thing I would change is to pay more for a bigger room but that’s on us.
Highly recommended
I arrived on a motorcycle with the large carpark to choose from and found a little out of view corner to leave the bike over night and because the hotel appears isolated i wasn't bother about security too much. One enters the hotel through two automatic sliding doors which is a bonus when carrying bags and crash helmets. The first door opens in to a cosy vestibule with seating around a rather modern teardrop shaped lig burner that appears to drip from the ceiling, it would be a wonderful place to sit on cold evening. After signing in by friendly welcoming staff I found my room negotiating my way up the stairs and along the deep pile carpeted corridor to my room.

Nice hotel. Dog and family friendly. Decent size rooms large enough to easily fit a dog bed and travel cot.
Great hotel, we had amazing time with our sausage dog , very friendly staff! Great food, good location, clean room and bathroom, fantastic breakfast, matteracce a bit hard and bed quite small, tv needs upgrade we are wearing glasses couldn’t see properly tv too small! Shaun and Brown hair receptionist working super hard and long hours they should get some bonus for great customer service! Good value for money! Highly recommended, definitely come back!
It’s like returning home when we stay at The Dunes. Beautiful hotel with just the friendliest staff and at an affordable price.
It’s a Pit stop for us this time, as our main holiday is in Northumberland but usually we would enjoy the little walk down the road to the exquisite national trust currently under threat beach - Roanhead.
