Disappointing experience.
Unfriendly staff and run down rooms.
We were informed we were being upgraded to one of the newly refurbished lake view rooms. The carpets in the room appeared to be covered in stains (see attached).
The jacuzzi in the spa was not working on our second day. I raised this with reception and was told the maintenance team will have a look. It appeared one of the staff members sorted this, however I was unable to maximise the use of the jacuzzi due to the issue.
Me and my partner were shocked to see there was no lighting at all in both the car parks in front and behind the aquarium. This is clearly a safety risk especially for guests who are leaving their vehicles in the car park. It may be that the car parks belong to the council or the aquarium, however if the car parks are being used by Hotel guests then you should have considered placing adequate lighting in both car parks. We shouldn't have to use our phone torch to safely navigate to our vehicles. You will clearly see the area is very dark on a night with several potholes, and this is a safety risk. There is also a lake just metres away and someone could quite easily fall over the edge.
No smart tv in the newly refurbished premium room.
The list could go on, however I will leave it there. I emailed the property prior to submitting this review to allow them an opportunity to comment, however its been a week and no response received.
