The Ring Farmhouse
10/10 Excellent
"This is a lovely farmhouse about a mile outside Birr, County Offaly. The owners are a great couple; the hospitality was fantastic & obvious from the start; there is WIFI; car parking space; room very comfortable; John even charged my electric car; the breakfast was fabulous. This was a better experience than most hotels. We really enjoyed our stay; pity it was just the one night. Overall a brilliant experience."
"We had an early departure and needed to get a cup of coffee and roll at 7:30 am. Only a full breakfast was available, as the cafe was not yet open. The host at the restaurant made an exemption for us to just get coffee . . . so that was OK, but would have liked just a simple cafe experience."
"This is an excellent location, about 15-20 minutes outside of Galway. The room was clean, included two twins and was comfortable. We were on the top floor which was up two flights of stairs, only annoying when bringing the luggage in. There was parking for about 6-8 vehicles in the back, we didn't have trouble finding a space but the lot was full each morning. Breakfast started at 8:30am which wasn't an issue for us but was later than we expected. You order off the menu at the restaurant and it was really good. Highly recommend purchasing some pastries - they were delicious. The pizza restaurant below is also amazing so great location for a meal. We would recommend this location."
"This is not a 4 star and I am very skeptical of the overall review rating. I'd give it a 2 or 3 star, and rate it a solid 6 overall. The room had an odd odor and was musty (it was warm.during my stay, so maybe that's why). The room was clean but dated. There was so much furniture in the hotel, but so random. The breakfast was not good. For what they had it seemed like old, reheated food."
