"Be aware that the hotel is under construction in the main areas. Carpet was pulled up and stacked next to our door. Construction trash all around the hotel.....everywhere. Noise until late in the evening and started early. They did have breakfast out but nothing else. Rooms were clean. Bathroom faucet was loose. Bathroom door takes up way too much room and opens in. You have to perform gymnastics to get around it. People at check in were nice and helpful."

"This hotel is a diamond in the rough. It used to be a classic upscale hotel built as such. The good: Location is perfect. Free Parking garage attached. Rooms are built to be silent. You don't really hear any noise. King bed was pretty comfortable. The price $$ is significantly cheaper than other hotels. The downside: Needs updated decor. No restaurants or breakfast offered, but there used to be a restaurant there. Only basic coffee offered. There are great options up the street. Had to request more soap and towel. No idea what is going on with the pool. None of the downsides would stop me from staying here again."

"1 night stay $183.00. Walked into room and it stunk like mildew, wet carpet, locker room that has never been cleaned. Carpet was old and felt greasy and stringy. Cushions on chairs were so flat and smelled old and musky. No microwave or refrigerator of any type. Bathroom had mildew growing on shower tiles. Way too much money for this. The view was beautiful....."

"Room was clean, but the temperature in 314 would not get the room as cold as we like it. Check-in process should move faster and a greeting goes a long way. We travel between NY and FL and we have literally stayed at this location 26 times in the last 2 years. The hotel is newer and clean. It depends who you get for the check in and out process. This hotel is filled with contractors and transient guests that expect hot coffee and breakfast. The last 3 stays have failed on providing either all while watching the receptionist sitting at the desk as if it not a big deal. These were all new faces to us, so it could be new management. We're still unsure what member of mgt came up with ultra small 5 pillows for a king bed. This does not add to comfort, but everyone knows this. Nonetheless, we have had better experiences. Hoping this was a fluke."

"The ONLY redeeming features were Tammy at the front desk and the nice housekeeping lady. The ONLY reason that I didn't check out was that there were no other places available and my bar is set pretty low. Truly, you'd have to experience it to believe it and I don't recommend that. You're better off not knowing."

"i have stayed at days inn hollins quite a few times and always enjoy my stay. hotel is always clean, bathrooms have been remodeled lots of fresh paint is obvious. staff is very helpful and friendly. free breakfast is good and has some hot items. my favorite place to stay in the roanoke, va area and the price is more than reasonable."
