Loved our stay here. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a lot of character from the old days, being inside a historical building. The room was lovely and large and the breakfast was fresh with the usual spread. The hotel location is inside the historical district and next to the fish market.

You can’t beat the location. Directly by water, fish market, lots of great restaurants within blocks. Rooms were spacious, bathrooms have claw foot tubs! Breakfast excellent and for me a pharmacy around the corner thank god!

Det Hanseatiske Hotel is full of character and perfectly located in the heart of Bergen’s historic old town, making it an excellent base for exploring the city on foot. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the included breakfast buffet offered a great selection to start each day. The hotel certainly embraces its heritage, but I personally found the décor a little too old-fashioned and dated. While many guests will appreciate the traditional style, I would have preferred a more contemporary feel. Overall, it’s a comfortable and well-located hotel with plenty of charm, especially if you’re looking to immerse yourself in Bergen’s history.

The property is a bit worn down but that’s the charm of it. Breakfast was outstanding. The property is right outside the fish market which is a bustling area but read reviews about whether the place you chose to eat out is worth it. There is a wonderful bar/music venue down the street named Felix. Might not play during the summer. They served awesome food. Bus stop and tram are very close to the hotel.
