This is the most amazing hotel. It feels like home. The pool and sauna are clean and relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. I will come again. It is in a quiet neighborhood.
Gorgeous building, magnificent service, wonderful atmosphere, great neighborhood - quiet but easy walk to restaurants, cafes, shops, and transportation to the "downtown" areas of Berlin. One of the great hotels of Europe!
Very nice stay. I’m a repeat guest and I do love this place. What slightly spoiled my enjoyment was the absence of a coffee machine in the room. Also they stopped offering room service, which the great staff tried to accommodate me as much as possible. But still for a property of this class, I’d expect that option.
Having said all that I had yet again a great time and will happily return.

Visually it's a beautiful hotel but service wise it's quite poor for what they advertise as "boutique hotel". It feels very much likes it's all talk.
For example you can't make coffee and tea in the rooms. You have to ask for the individual kettle, cup, milk etc yourself and take it up to the room. They also weren't offering room service either. Eventually they did after several days but the kitchen closed at 10pm which was way too early as we often returned from sightseeing in central Berlin just before or after this time so felt quite pointless.
There was also a party at the hotel which we were not informed about which caused the restaurant and bar to be closed. The loud music blasting for hours and the lack of anywhere to eat wasn't great. Had we known of this in advance we wouldn't have returned from central to eat at the hotel.
At times it felt like reception whilst friendly weren't that helpful. It really feels like you only get things if you ask but otherwise no service is offered which doesn't feel right for such an establishment. Shout-out to the guy who works at the bar though he was a super star and helped me immensely.
Location wise the hotel is in a very good and affluent area. It doesn't take that long to get into central by Uber. Public transport it's slightly less well connected.
The rooms are nice, clean. The AC unit is somewhat noisy unfortunately and you can hear people walking and slamming doors from the corridor.

Gorgeous public rooms. Great breakfast. Nice bedroom but a bit of wear and tear. Needs a little TLC.
TV was on a stand that blocked the desk. Make up mirror was loose. Could use a new mattress.

Upon arrival, I learned that the premium room I had reserved was sold to another guest and I was given a so-called upgrade. This upgrade was an old suite badly in need of renovation. It smelt old and dusty and I hardly slept that night. This property has relinquished its five star status in order to save money. This is what I was told by the staff and the standards have fallen dramatically. I witnessed this firsthand as I stayed there about a year and a half ago. Avoid at all cost, this is not a five star property!
The hotel is fine, the room was clean but extremely outdated. It's got a nice vintage look to it but really could use some updating.
I'm leaving 1 star for one reason only and its because it's more visible to others looking up reviews. The breakfast was 90 euros for two people and was the same breakfast you get for free or under 20 euros at every other hotel in the world. Don't waste your money on anything other than the room itself here. If you really want hotel breakfast walk to any other hotel in Berlin, and get the same thing for free.
This was our first time in Berlin which, as we discovered is a very spread-out city. With that said, if you want to be located near the city center (e.g. Brandenburg gate, museums, shopping and restaurants) this is not the hotel for you. The Schlosshotel is located in a quiet residential area of the city with very large old homes. The hotel itself was built in 1911 as a former residence, then became an embassy, followed by its conversion to a hotel. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The pool/spa area below the hotel is lovely. While we enjoyed our stay, all of the places we wanted to go were at least a half an hour cab ride one-way (average fare $30-$35). They offer a large breakfast spread (at a charge). The hotel bar area offers entertainment most evenings, but the pours on their drinks are minuscule and the prices high.
It's a beautiful hotel with a lovely friendly staff however they advertise themselves as having air conditioning when we arrived we were put in one room on the top floor that was lovely the air conditioner was turned on at 4 PM and when we arrive back in our room at 1 AM it was still boiling hot They then moved us to another room which was slightly cooler but still extremely hot clearly there is an issue with their air-conditioning system it does not work properly. Unfortunately that was enough to ruin my trip.
Tolles Swimmingpool u guter Saunabereich.
