A clean and cosy stop.
A cosy clean overnight returning from the snow. Lodge style bar, lounge, fireplaces. Good continental breakfast included. Friendly hosts and dog Shelley.

This facility is very nice. Old fashioned but very comfortable. Super clean and a lovely set of facilities, lots of large public spaces with fireplaces or for eating, games playing or lounging. A nice find for tired skiers.

Ski weekend
The place was better than expected and not far off Jindabyne either. The hosts were friendly and gave good, no nonsense ski advice. Rooms are spacious and contain everything you need, but they are a bit dated and could use refurbishment.

Great stop-over on way to snow.
Considering the price, the motel was exactly what we needed for a few hours sleep on the way to the snow. Fitted our family of 4 well, and much cheaper than Jindabyne. The owners were lovely and very accommodating.

Very nice lodge, good common areas, nice owners
We stayed in a room for four with two bunk beds. Very small room but there was a large dining room, a large games room and a large bar area with fireplace. Two big-screen TVs in the common area. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Did the job
There for l'etape. Needed a bed and room for the bike. Got it with a friendly helpful caretaker. Plenty of food for the continental breakfast. Great at 3am. Very quiet area so could have slept for ages except needed to get up.

Very pleasant stay, no complaints
This was the most affordable stay we could find when booking last minute and we were pleasantly surprised when arriving at the hotel. It has a very warm, friendly, communal atmosphere as we arrived to see people sitting at the bar together and a nice fire in the living room. Staff were very friendly and there was no trouble with our room or any of the facilities. The standard of the hotel and the price make it worth the extra 15 minute drive to the ski fields.

It was nice, clean and only 40min drive to Skitube Parking. Our room was standard queen, it was a bit small but it was well equipped.

Issues with Booking
I booked online via Wotif, but entered the incorrect dates for my intended stay. 100% my fault. I immediately contacted the staff at Cottonwood, who said that they could not refund it, but I could re-book it for a different date provided that I e-mailed them to organise it. I sent several follow-up e-mails, to which I did not receive a reply. I rang their office again, but it continued to go to voicemail. I did not end up getting my stay - despite having paid for it. Very disappointing. I've stayed there before, and as such my rating of room cleanliness and comfort is based on that stay. They have significant issues with hot water (as many of the 'affordable' alpine motels do) and the rooms are very small. Overall they are good for skiers on a budget.

The owners are lovely and very accommodating. We wanted to stay an extra night and they they only charged us a fraction of what we paid for the other nights. The common areas were nice and cosy. We would definitely stay there again!

Berridale was just too far from shops, restaurants and the snows. We spent nearly full tank petrol driving up and down the road.

Away weekend from Canberra
I was looking for a nice reasonably inexpensive place away from Canberra for the weekend...and was pleasantly surprised. The bathroom was obviously new and quite spacious. The room itself, while not large was well appointed with heaps of storage including a writing desk and chair. The heating worked well and the bed was very comfortable. (Must remember to turn on the fridge next time...left a freezer brick and salad in fridge and wondered why they weren't cold on leaving!) They have a big lounge room and kitchen area (with a wonderful enclosed fire) and obviously get both family and skiing groups through regularly. The car park was off road conveniently at the back, so easy to get luggage in. I enjoyed a game of pool while there too and there is a swimming pool. All I wanted to do was play guitar and read my Arnie Schwarzenegger bio book for a day and enjoyed doing just that. Nice and quiet area well back from main roads. I'd certainly stay there happily again.
