Loved our stay here, just wish we had more time to enjoy the onsite restaurants. Expedia VIP gave us credit per day, unfortunately, we never were able to use just do to timining. Wish the rooms had fans or white noise machines to allow for a more restful sleep. It was a gorgeous room but the downtown traffic definitely kept us up.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Mornings were greeted with a vehicle without exhaust roaring down the street and was the one frustration for the 2 days I was there. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but my room was on the street side.

The staff at the Northern is top notch. Shelby at the front desk is so accommodating and welcoming, you can tell that she loves her job. The location is great for shopping downtown and taking in events and the Ten lounge is a great place to relax and have a nice cocktail or dinner. Bernie’s has excellent breakfast and lunch options as well.

From Valet parking to the front desk staff, staff were courteous and helpful. Rooms were very clean, and cozy. Able to walk to all of our destinations downtown.

Great hotel with very friendly staff and great to have a bar and restaurant available in the hotel. Didn’t care for the parking situation but after walking through the snow and ice to get to the hotel from the parking garage we found out about the valet parking and used that for the rest of our stay.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past. Mostly on business trips. It was one of my favorite hotels out of many around the country. I stopped traveling to Billings about 4 years ago, so when I had the opportunity after all that time, I reserved the Northern. Unfortunately it has not faired well. Rooms are showing their age. Dirty, holes in the hallway walls, stains on the wallpaper, tears in lamp shades, etc. There is a parking garage next door which is convenient and supposed to be free to guests. The pass didn’t work and when I brought it up at checkout, the desk clerk said management was specific that employees were not to reimburse for the known problem. $15 a day, not a big deal, but it sealed the decision to stay somewhere else when in Billings. Sad to see, what used to be an amazing experience turned into a mismanaged property and we paid a premium to stay there.

The Northern is great for convenience of valet parking, transportation to & from airport, and the peace of mind to know your vehicle is safe with them when you're out of town. Beautiful clean hotel. Only complaint is all tv's are defaulted to fake news CNN which shows me how left they are.

Recognition is important
As frequent patrons we stay at the Northern even when it’s more expensive. We feel that loyal customers such as ourselves should be recognized upon walking up to the desk. A system should be set up to accommodate this. Otherwise we would give the Northern 5 Star rating.
