“I really enjoyed my one night stay at Y Pengwern. The bar was friendly when we checked in, and when I was shown my room was amazed at how big it was. I was backpacking and there was plenty of room to reorganise my kit, and the bed was large and very comfortable. After a long day's walk we were looking forward to food, and were very happy with the big hearty meals we had in the restaurant. “Good location in beautiful scenery not far from some walks. On a main road but it was completely silent at night. Suite was lovely and bigger than expected, with beautiful views, and a very modern bathroom with a fab shower. The bed did have a weird slope to it though which put our feet higher than our heads! Food in the pub at dinner time was expensive and average, although breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Enjoyed our stay very much. ”

“The hotel is decent, but it is far too expensive for what you get. We paid £195 for one night for three guests, including breakfast, and it was not worth the price. The biggest problem was the room. It was unbearably hot, and the only thing provided was a small fan, which did almost nothing to cool it down. Our room faced east, but the window could barely be opened, leaving almost no ventilation. The room felt like an oven. We spoke to the manager about how hot the room was, but our concerns...
