Art is a huge part of the Appalachia culture. The town is full of color from spray paint on walls to artsy shops at every corner. #appalachianechoes This picture is of the Mystery Hill sign in Boone. I took this picture because it reminds me of the time my parents brought me to Boone for a short vacation. We visited Mystery Hill and it is something I think about when describing this region. It is a picture that I feel many people from the region have in their minds from a previous visit or an outsider may feel for a similar place from their hometown. I chose to only take a picture of the sign because it is more direct than a picture of the Mystery Hill building.

"The high ratings on most travel sites for the Embers are well deserved. We found the hotel to be very clean. Ben and Thomas at the front desk were both very courteous and helpful. The only negative was jackhammering in the middle of one night by the NC DOT. But that’s not the hotels fault of course. ..."
