A great hotel very near to the town. There were 18 of us staying there while attending Rotary conference at the BIC. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was great too. We would certainly stay there again and thoroughly recommend it to other visitors to Bournemouth.

Nice hotel 10min walk to town centre
Very comfortable stay at the Montague hotel my only comment is the bathroom needs updating..
The staff were all friendly and helpful. Comfortable room with nice hot shower. Good breakfast comprising cereals, fruits, Danish pastries, yogurt, choices of full English breakfast with poached, scrambled or fried eggs, The cliff top with sea views was 2 minutes walk away.
Have stayed here before and will stay again as rates can be very reasoable.Hotel is on a busy roundabout so there is some noise when the windows are open in rooms at the front of the Hotel.Parking is available on site but limited.
Arrived late at might and was asked to move my car from only space in car park I was not blocking anyone as they asserted I did .. next night they got some one to park in exact same spot.
I had an issue with my rental car and they neither had a local phone I could use nor would they allow me to contact the rental company on their PC mentioned in their room directory
In the morning when I asked if there was a tyre repair place nearby .. their repeated answer was their restaurant was downstairs ... no issue with using migrant workers but as a hotel receptionist has communication skills in their job requirement speaking the language would be a start ... second day I asked if there were local restaurants near I got repeated response that the hotel restaurant was downstairs but closed
They do not serve food except breakfast on the weekend, despite what their room directory suggests
Car park has less than half the spaces needed based on room numbers
Overall rooms dated and need refurb
Bar looks like something from Faulty Towers

Nice for short break
Decor very nice and room very clean.
Staff were lovely and nothing too much trouble.
Was staying for one week, and was initially in a very small double room. But staff were happy to upgrade me to a larger room as soon as one became available.
This was ideal for one night stay to visit our daughter at university. Good value and the staff particularly pleasant and helpful.

Reasonable hotel
Hotel is tired and our room much too hot even though heating was off. We were above the kitchen and disturbed by the staff chatting before their shift started at 6am. Breakfast extortionate at £8 per person per meal even if only having toast. This needs revising... not everyone wants a full English breakfast.
Compact mid range chain hotel with friendly staff.
Best Western are comfortable mid range hotels, the Montague is but my double room was tiny, enough room for 1 person but too small to share, you could only watch TV in bed and shower room was tiny, found a pair of pants left by the previous guest behind toilet door but other than that the room was clean and comfortable. The food looked and smelt good but I dinned out for my 1 nights stay, car parking was an issue as only room for around 15 or so cars, staff were kind and friendly, I would book again I would check the room size and behind bathroom door.
There were a loud group of girls woke us at 5am Sunday. Staff were supportive and asked them to be quiet.

Pleasant stay
The twin room was really a single room with two beds in. There was no room at all around the beds, to the point that the chair couldn't go behind the desk, but the bed was close enough to use as a chair instead! Breakfast was nice and all the staff were friendly. It was very much what you'd expect from a budget priced resort hotel.

Clean and VFM
Hotel clean and staff very friendly, creaking floor boards and thin walls the main negatives - value for money with a comfortable bed and decent breakfast
Even with GPS this hotel was hard to find. Once we found it it was fine, with ample free parking behind the building. The bar in the lobby was a nice touch, and check-in was smooth. The "family room" wasn't quite as big or as well laid out as in the photos, but it seems that each one is a bit different, so it was fine.
Then things started going wrong. Our side of the hallway had no hot water (not sure how that works), but a family room across the hallway did. Rather than just moving us, we had to share the key with the other rooms so that we could all take turns taking a hot shower. There were no apologies for this at all, but hey, I guess the person at the front desk isn't responsible for the boiler, and at least there was a solution, even if a bit awkward.
Then on check-out they wanted to charge me £80 for the breakfasts, despite the fact that I was standing there with a confirmation in hand saying I had booked and prepaid the rate including breakfasts. However, my confirmation was in US dollars instead of pounds and her system said no breakfast, so she wasn't going to honor it. (???) She tried to say she had told me that there would be a charge for breakfast when we checked in, but I was standing there with 5 witnesses who confirmed that she had told us where breakfast was and when, not that we would have to pay extra.
In the end, she "waived" breakfast given the lack of hot water, but continued to refuse to recognize the confirmation from the US Expedia site.
The hotel is feeling it's age a bit with water problems (tepid water from cold tap and it took ages for hot water to come through hot taps- poor thermostat on shower meant too hot or cold as well) . Room 19 was over the front door so a fair bit of late night noise and constant knocking noise as the door opened and closed in the wind all night long!

Average
A two night stay while attending a conference at the BIC (10 minute walk) at a very average hotel. The rooms need a bit of an update, but having said that, they are clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is decent and the service very functional, so no complaints.
Would stay again if needed to
