"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

"Nice little B&B a few yards from the course at Clyne. Small but well appointed twin rooms and a delicious full breakfast served in the clubhouse.
Staff and members very hospitable and all four in our party very pleased and would happily stay again. "

"Warm welcome and friendly staff, however quite a modest property even for a BnB and at this price point. Small room with very small shower. Fine breakfast but only instant freeze dried coffee, and few options if you don't want a fry up. Immediate area full of litter on streets (like most of Barry). I know this isn't their fault but it's a location point. Overall a fine place to stay but I'm surprised current reviews are quite so high -- afterall, a warm and friendly welcome should be expected...

"Definitely recommend this B&B, from the warm and friendly welcome, to the beautifully clean accommodation, and lovely fresh breakfast. To the great location for exploring the castle and surrounding area. "

"I was pretty happy with the hotel, and the overall service. Access was straight forward and staff engagement through emails and WhatsApp was excellent when required. I would happily recommend this accommodation."

"Great hotel. Our room was very big with a huge bed. The bathroom was a good size with both bath and shower. Everything was very clean. Great central location, 5-10 minute walk to city centre shopping arcades, restaurants and bars. Conveniently there is a multi-storey car park opposite (formerly NCP), where you can get discounted parking with a code from hotel reception. Spa facilities available; pool, and spa treatments, showers and changing rooms. Huge dining room with a delicious evening menu, and breakfast. The bar is great if you don’t fancy a late night out in town, cocktail menu, good draught selection and friendly staff. Could possibly do with some snacks/nibbles, such as crisps, nuts etc. It was our second visit and we’ll definitely return. Highly recommend."
"The hotel was in a good location that was not far from restaurants and public transportation. There was AC in the room which was needed for the extreme heat while I was there. The staff were helpful. There were events at the hotel and concerts at night nearby, so it did get noisy until around 10:30 and then it got quiet. I didn't try the breakfast but went to nearby coffee shops for breakfast."
"Staff were really friendly.
Air conditioned rooms on a stay where it was very hot was delightful!
One staff member was helpful when unfortunately we had a incident with the hair dryer which must of blown up and caused the lights to go out, was understanding and got it fixed within a short amount of time. Was an easy enough walk to the high Street and the castle in which our event was and was the reason for our stay! Great hotel, would recommend 😊"
"Amazing location which was right by the beach but also walking distance from the centre where all the shops and restaurants are. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy."
"The hotel was great, lovely interior and very friendly and helpful staff. Only issue there was no car park although I saw there was meant to be. There was a sign to a car park for the hotel but it was closed off and we were informed to park across the road and pay £24 for overnight parking at the back of a stadium.
Had a wonderful stay other wise."
"Beautiful hotel! The staff were super helpful and the facilities were perfect. The room was perfect and large. Very well maintained and clean. Personally I would have preferred a little amenities kit in the bathroom and I was slightly disappointed with the breakfast. With a buffet I expected more items on the menu and some of the pastry and hot food tasted quite stale which was disappointing considering the price. Overall, lovely hotel."
"Upon arrival (slightly early) I was greeted by a lovely lady on reception; very helpful. Check-in was quick & efficient. Good sized room & very comfy bed. Compact but super-clean & functional bathroom, with a great powerful shower. High quality towels & linens throughout. Room amenities were of a high standard, plenty of hanging space for clothes, plus drawers for my bits. Spacious desk/workspace, with plenty of power outlets.
After checking in, I enjoyed a superb meal in the restaurant, & a couple of drinks in the bar; for the standard I was more than happy with the cost.
I had an issue (lost property), but that was quickly resolved by the hotel manager who was extremely helpful.
Can't fault this establishment; I can thoroughly recommend a stay & a meal!"
