Location posted on Expedia was Interlaken where we wanted to stay but the hotel is located in Brienz which is 20 minutes by train from Interlaken. Hotel is located right in front of Lake Brienz and train/boat station which is great but its old 2 story building with small rooms and bathroom. Breakfast was good, however no toaster or microwave in breakfast area. SHort staffed, owner was on the counter plus doing everything.

The staff was kind and having access to a washer and dryer was helpful. The location was great. Steps away from the train station and direct view of Lake Brienz. There is no AC or fan provided. We had to sleep with the windows open. The windows don’t have screens so bugs came in. We all did not sleep well. Maybe in the winter this hotel would be a better stay but we would not come back. Everything in the room was dated. They only provide liquid soap and toilet paper. The towels felt old. They offer luggage service while you wait to check in but the luggage storage area is just in the basement under the staircase. Luggage is not secured behind a lock or door. Also, there is not much to do in this area. Everything closes around 8pm except one pizza place. If you’re ok with a very quiet town with not many options for food or shopping then it may be a good place for you. We recommend the hotel installs screens on the windows, provides fans, and updated toiletries. We would be more inclined to recommend this hotel if they provided these items.

This hotel is located right in front of the lake and extremely convenient to travel by train and boat. It has a beautiful restaurant and views from the room and restaurant are spectacular and it is a gem to stay at lake Brienz.

Super Lage mit Seeblick (ja, nicht jedes Zimmer), aber jedes Mal, wenn man aus dem Hotel rausgeht, liegt der Brienzersee direkt vor euch. Auch das Hotelrestaurant hat diesen herrlichen Blick. Das Zimmer war sauber, die Betten gemütlich und das Bad ebenso. Das Personal war einfach top! Sehr nette Menschen. Das Frühstück mit offenem Buffet hatte alles, was nötig war. Würde ich wiederkommen? Ja, auf jeden Fall.

Alles in allem keine 3 Sterne. Man wirbt mit Goethe, der ging wohl schon auf dieser Treppe, vor allem auf dem teilweise nicht mehr vorhandenen Teppich... Rezeption, wenn überhaupt besetzt, durch manch sehr schnippischen, fast unverschämten Kellner, Besitzer waren nicht zu sehen, sind wohl mit den anderen Hotels beschäftigt Frühstücksauswahl eher klein, es wird zögerlich nachgelegt, wenn überhaupt. Aufbacksemmeln, Crossiants und Brot, aus. Es ist viel Luft nach oben - in allen Bereichen.

We are from Australia and treat everyone with courtesy and respect. The waiter in the morning Breakfast Room was very rude. Can't remember his name. Starte with Y. Tall guy, with a beard, white shirt and black trousers. The coffee machine was not working and the coffee was not hot. So I requested him to make it hot. He said he will do it only for one day but never again. The next day I had the same problem. When I requested him he rudely said NO. It did not take him more than 2 minutes to warm the coffee. But very rude and unhelpful.
