"Good hotel, staff very helpful. Located across street from Westfield Mall, which was huge. Close to bus route that took you into town. The shower never got hot, it barely got lukewarm, and that took forever. There was a TV issue which was determined to be weather related. But, they addressed it quickly. As first time visitors, and as two single female seniors, I should have done better research. I probably would have picked something closer to the CBD and the Cat Ferry."

"We love staying at the Star Grand Brisbane. However this time at the restaurant at the Sky Deck they had an Oyster and Domaine Chandon Happy Hour from 4 - 6. We went up and ask for the promotion which was $3 Oysters and a glass of Chandon for $12. We were told by the young girl there that they had run out of oysters. I said ok I will just have a glass of Chandon for $12. She politely told me I could not have the Chandon for $12 because I wasn't having the oysters. To which I replied but you don't have any oysters. She said sorry but she couldn't do anything. Very poor for such a great hotel. We will be back but I would expect that if the Star Grand offer a happy hour promotion for 2 hours next time when we get there at 5 (half way through the Happy Hour) we can still get the promotion.."

"The.propery is dated and undergoing renovation. That said, the renos had no impact and the rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Great location near action at Queen St. Definitely a tourist area, lots of pubs, bars, restaurants, etc. We had.l breakfast there and highly recommend it - good for price. Pool under construction. Self serve coin operated laundry available. Would recommend - good hotel for price. Front desk staff helpful!!"

"The staff were great, informative regarding Uber rides, local great restaurant within 200mtrs from Ascot Budget accommodation. Room, linen, bathrooms etc clean & crisp. Very very good for a convenient stay, close to airports. Perfect for my overnight stay and very inexpensive. Thanks to staff."
