Buck Island, St. Thomas hotel rooms at the Rosewood Hotels

"Do NOT plan to arrive early to this hotel or be treated kindly. We arrived around 3:00 pm knowing that check in is at 4 pm, but most hotels can accommodate an early check in if the rooms are ready. We explained that we would like to check in so we could freshen up prior to our 4:30 pm cab pickup and dinner reservation at 5 pm. The front desk person didn’t even look at her computer and told us check in is at 4. When 4:00 arrived so did the line of people. We had to change our reservation and cab pick up as we did not get into our room until 4:45. The hotel is pretty much brand new, clean, comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is nice."

"Clean room that is in need of someTLC. The Pool is beautiful and so is the view from the patio where continental breakfast is available. The staff is very helpful. AC works great when there is not a power outage, which happens about 2 hours per day. Shower worked and there is bar soap and shampoo along with towels. The property feels safe, with a gate that is locked 8-8pm. Location is good if you want to be downtown and walk to the many jewelry and gift shops. Not sure if there is parking at the hotel because our car rental fell through due to our flight arriving late (they do not hold car reservations at the airport rental agencies) but you can get a taxi to take you anywhere. Taxis cost a lot. Bring lots of cash because that’s all they take!"

"We loved everything about our stay - just wished we had stayed longer. The beachfront room was perfect for our family and the view was amazing. The beach was perfect for the kids to swim and snorkel and we even got to meet some friendly sting rays right off the shore! The restaurant had good food options - all of which were yummy. We will definitely be returning :)"

We Waited over an hour for dinner to just take the order food was cold when arrived and super bland waiter didn’t even come check on us after food was brought out then a different waiter brought us our Check also could not use Cash for drink at the bar mid day and waited in like for 30 mins just to find that out! Service is not good here’s "

"My STRONG advice is to pay extra for a superior room. I stayed the economy double and it was not nice. Do not stay in 113, we had roaches in our room. I also stayed in 43 (I think) no roaches. I will upload a picture of our view from 113. Looked at a wall with peeling paint. Pros of hotel: - Upper level rooms look nice (Superior rooms) - Included Breakfast is cooked to order, nice and fast! - Staff is nice - Close to town. You can walk to the ferry terminal. save $20 each in cab fare when going to eat or to/from ferry. - The island lost power and we still had power via a generator. This was not true for all rooms. Those in the middle building above the office and near the restaurant have power. - It's clean - AC works good Cons: - Roaches in 113 - The hot water is warm enough for a shower but just barely. This was also true for our friends who stayed there in better rooms. - Towels are marginal, need replacing. - No elevator and lots of stairs - Very dated furniture and fixtures "
