Nice hotel but not sure I will return

I was stuck at Buenos Aires airport due to the National strikes. I went online and made a last-minute booking. I arrived at the hotel but the lady who was at Reception did not want to open the gate for me as she said I didn't have a reservation. The more I tried to explain to her that I only made the booking an hour ago (she spoke no English), the less she wanted to let me in. I even showed her my reservation on my phone but she kept on shaking her head. I explained that I paid an that I'm not leaving and I have nowhere else to sleep. Eventually she let me in only to show me how she has no reservations. Again, I insisted and showed her my booking again. Finally she phoned someone and said all was okay. I think that is a bad first impression. Even if you are not sure if I have a booking, have the courtesy to let me in at least and THEN check. Or even offer me a room since you are afterall a hotel. Anyway, the hotel itself was comfortable but not sure if it is that special. I could hardly get hot water and I missed small things in the bathroom like body-lotion (I had no luggage). It served the purpose but not sure I will come back if I had a choice.

Lovely boutique hotel in Monserrat

Lovely hotel. Great service. Quiet room in the back opening on to the garden. The room has a water boiler - great for making coffee or mate AND a little refrigerator. We didn't use either much, as breakfast was included and the coffee was decent. Also teas and hot chocolate. The only slight difficulty was that to get to San Telmo (for many of the milongas) we had to cross 9 de julio. It's 17 lanes including busses and cars, so it's quite a feat. WIFI was slow and spotty - our experience all over Buenos Aires.

Hotel bonitinho, mas extremamente barulhento, colchão velho, staff com boa vontade, mas sobrecarregado. Café da manha satisfatório, mas nada de mais. Fiz reservado de quarto triplo, me colocaram num duplo e não tive outra opção. Não recomendo mesmo.

Hermosa casona ideal para el descanso y la lectura

Nos hospedamos en la habitación "Alma" muy amplia, bien equipada, limpia, la ducha es excelente. Bien aislada del sonido y la temperatura exterior, inclusive de la luz, fue muy bueno el descanso. Le faltaba un poco de calidez a la decoración a ni gusto..

Great!

A very quaint, comfortable and friendly place near some good restaurants and centrally located between San Telmo and Recoleta. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a nicely designed one-year-old renovation of a 19th century building. The owner is a trained occupational therapist, so the comfort and design are well thought out. Very modern, tasteful appointments and the breakfasts were great too. You won't be disappointed! Thomas.

Uma boa opção, prédio tradicional com muito verde

Minha primeira experiência de hospedagem no bairro Montsserat. Apesar de minha preferência por San Telmo, este também é um bairro tradicional e agradável de se frequentar. Quanto ao Hotel, possui funcionários muito atenciosos e disponíveis para nos atender. A decoração é muito bonita, com objetos antigos e o típido "fileteo" argentino. Possui pequenos jardins com muito verde. Juntando esses lugares com a tranquilidade do lugar, temos a sensação de estar descansando em casa. A internet é de boa qualidade. O café da manhã muito saboroso é o típico de Buenos Aires, composto de produtos de muito boa qualidade, mas sem a grande variedade que costuma ser oferecida em hotéis do Brasil.

Una acogedora y hermosa joya en Buenos Aires.

Muy bien. Una casa antigua delicadamente restaurada, con gran gusto y calidad. El personal y la dueña son magníficas personas, siempre dispuestos a ayudar. Ambiente tranquilo y lleno de hermosos detalles que invitan a quedarse a disfrutarlo y no sólo a llegar a dormir. Limpieza, orden y decoración muy dedicados. Excelente representante de lo que es un hotel boutique. Coincidí con una linda pareja porteña que estaba de escapada, celebrando 43 años de matrimonio. Los huéspedes con los que me crucé, todos eran personas muy calmadas y refinadas...(a que el hotel atrae ese tipo de gente buena) Muy fácil moverse en transporte e público; líneas de colectivos y estación de metro a sólo un par de cuadras. Volveré sin dudarlo un segundo.

Como escaparse en la la ciudad

Nos gusto mucho la opción de estar en la ciudad pero como en el campo. Con patios coloniales y gran libertad de uso de las áreas comunes. Se puede pedir delivery en el hotel, escuchar discos, rondar la cocina....para recomendar!

A great find, highly recommended!

Gorgeous, reasonable, boutique hotel with lots of original details, great customer service & charm, I did a happy dance when I arrived & saw the place. The setting is perfect, rooms are comfortable and Celeste super friendly & helpful. Rooms open directly onto the courtyard which meant it was a little cold initially but soon warmed up & was cozy (note coldest day that year when I was there!), breakfast is simple & delicious. Whilst not in the main areas for tourist sights, I enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood, cute cafe round the corner, bakery nearby. Subways are only a few blocks and very easy to navigate. I would 100% recommend for anyone to stay here.
