Brown Loaf, New Forest The sandy knoll on the right is called Brown Loaf, presumably because of its heathy brown colour and its conical topography. A path winds its way around to the left of the hillock, with the dismantled railway cutting to the right. The general slope of the heath is down to the left, towards Cranes Moor.
Long Pond, New Forest. A panoramic view of the pond during a dry spell, with some of the dried out pond-bed in the foreground.
Approaching Burley Street from Picket Post, New Forest. The Picket Post to Burley road descends from Picket Plain and turns ninety degrees left into Burley Street. The hill in background just to right of the road is the fortified Castle Hill.
