Excellent breakfast ! When you use normal taxi from hotel to airport, the driver used to request extra fees despite it's fixed 250 EGP. so you need to prepare small changes in advance...

This is my favourite hotel to stay in while visiting Cairo! I love the grounds, ambience, wonderful, attentive and friendly staff, beautiful pool, gorgeous old palace features in the main building, and the most excellent location in Cairo on Zamalek. I highly recommend this hotel!

It’s an amazing location and the rooms have a lovely view, and staff were generally nice. The room was not well maintained. There were some issues with the shower. The first day the shower gel was empty ! Then they forgot to refill my Nespresso since I stayed at the executive room. Also, I asked for later checkout (8 PM) and they charged me 100$ extra. I asked to stay an extra hour since my flight was at 1:30AM and they refused ! They said they’d have to charge me a full night. I ended up staying in the lobby for an hour and a half. They never asked me about my experience upon checkout. They don’t value their customers and their relationship is very transactional. The room smelled like cigarettes although it said that it was smoke free and I had to put up with the smell. And finally, their security were intrusive at some moments. When I arrived the scanner did not work so they kept me waiting for 10 minutes, then they went through my stuff. One time, they did a body scan. Which was unnecessary and made me feel uncomfortable.

The staff at this hotel was what made it so special. Omar at the front desk was amazing. They were friendly and always willing to help and answer questions. I enjoyed my 4 night stay and will definitely be back again.

Good hotel. The only down side is the cost, I wanted to extend my stay few more days, they told me the price per night in the final days of the year would be over USD 500 per night, I consider that too much, unless you are a president or a billionaire.

The grounds of the hotel were lovely and relaxing. I loved the amenities in what was once a palace. My only disappointment was the huge TV screens, inside and in the outside seating areas of the Egyptian Nights restaurant. The food was delicious, but the large tvs were annoyingly bright and obtrusive. I wish we could have ordered the food, and were able to eat it in the other lovely outdoor eating areas, away from the tvs and the hookah pipes and their accompanying smoke.

Unfortunately It wasn't a comfortable stay
I always stay in this hotel whenever I go to cairo for more than 20 years. This time was the worse time ever. First night I saw bugs on the bed sheets, second I struggled with the toilet water, the water was extremely cold, plumber came couple of times to fix it and it was still cold, pillows are not comfortable at all. If I didn't pay in advance I would've check out and go to another hotel.

Property is really nice. You can tell that they are trying to maintain this hotel, but it's aging and may be time for renovations. The spa never has availability whenever I went. The Egyptian Nights restaurant has really delicious food. Keep in mind that service is extremely slow so don't go to the restaurant or any restaurant in Cairo hungry because you will be waiting awhile. Overall my stay was nice and I will stay again.

The restaurants/food is really good. Room service comes at 8:41pm to clean the room nightly even though I asked for the room to be cleaned at 8:45am. It's an older Marriott that they are doing their best to maintain. The carpet is badly stained in the hallways and the room. Replacing them would change the whole experience. The beds are super soft. I love firm mattress. Over a good experience I would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay at the Marriott in Zamalek. It is a beautiful property. I was initially given a room with a balcony that I couldn't use due to renovations, however asked the front desk and changed to a room with a balcony on the upper floors facing Cairo Tower, with some view of the Nile from the balcony. The room was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The hotel offers several dining options. The cafe at the lobby is a quick and good choice for a simple meal. The food is however over priced at the hotel, as one might expect at a 5-star hotel. The area around the hotel is nice. The hotel staff are friendly. Here are two things I didn't like: - The hotel is frequented by sex-workers and single men who are buying their services. - The concierge is usually empty, and the reception is always busy with slow turn around time.
