African Style - das ist die iKhaya Lodge
Wir freuten uns, nach 9 Jahren wieder in der iKhaya Lodge unterzukommen. Inzwischen ist die Lodge etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber immer noch vermittelt sie ein ganz besonderes Flair. Der Blick vom Wintergarten auf den Table Montain ist einmalig. Die Gastfreundschaft und der Service waren top. Ebenfalls genossen wir das Angebot vom Frühstücksbuffet mit zusätzlicher warmer Küche. Danke für alles.

It was centrally located with killer views of table mountain. Everything you need is within walking distance and if you need to go a little further, Cape Town has Uber or even taxis. There are restaurants and museums right next door. If you like to party, the famous long street is a 15 minute walk!

The owner Ruth and receptionist are the warmest hosts ever! Great conversation and expansive suggestions about where to go in Cape Town. The entire lodge is very warm and decorated with Afrocentric artwork. The room was also cozy and homely. We had an excellent overnight stay at IKhaya and would definitely return!

Cape Town, My 2nd Time Around
We were looking for a clean safe place and area to stay. Found It!!! Rustic, Authentic, Friendly lodge. We wanted to "Rough It" without going to the wilderness. iKhaya is just the place to get that type of feeling. There's a restaurant right across the parking lot that offers a lot for the persons in your group that needs a bit of night lift. The food is truly out of this world.

Lage ist gut, Lodge okay (für Anspruchslose)
Das gebuchte Zimmer war belegt, so dass man uns in einem Appartement unterbringen wollte. Dieses ähnelte eher einer Dunkelkammer und war total veraltet! Ein No Go!! Nach einigem hin & her konnten wir umziehen. Das freie Appartement war okay, aber nicht mit dem gebuchten Zimmer zu vergleichen. Warum nun das Zimmer ausgebucht war, konnte nicht rekonstruiert werden. Wir hatten eine tolle Terrasse mit Blick auf den Tafelberg. Aber nochmal würden wir dort nicht buchen!

Lovely lodge
Lovely lodge decorated in traditional African decor. Second floor rooms have an enclosed balcony with a sliding door; third floor rooms have an open balcony. No elevator, but the stairs are minimal and easy to navigate. Close to Company's Garden and a 10-15 minute walk to Long Street. Staff very professional and accommodating. Free breakfast, but I didn't eat, so can't comment on it. Free computer for guests to use.

Great view. Nice feel. Comfy beds. Nice breakfast
Loved the location and set up of the place. The African decor added to its charm. Had an amazing balcony view of table mountain and the beds were super comfy. Definitely recommend.

Worth to stay, good location
Well located, good staff and services. Balcony could be cleaned better. Rooms with Table mountain wiew can hear loud guests from the bar on the opposite corner of Dunkley square, especially on Fri/Sat.

Nice hotel, cute, nice area
The hotel had a very nice "lodge" type feeling. The staff was constantly present and looking to make life easier. They lent me, free of charge, multiple adapters for my phone and computer (mine didn't work), and were happy to accommodate any requests, such as Kosher breakfast, late check-in, and leaving my bags after check-out for the last day before picking them up on the way to the airport.

Great lodge
Positive: Totally loved this place. We stayed here 5 nights. The location is good - still within walking distance to main tourist spot, very close to big park. We had great view of table mountain from our balcony. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was also good. Neutral: Room was small, but still ok for a couple for 5 days.

Ruim twee weken in dit hotel verbleven. De ligging is ideaal. Aan een rustig pleintje en toch alle bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand. De lodge is ietwat gedateerd en onze kamer was niet al te groot. Personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Grenzend aand onze kamer hadden we een balkon waar je heerlijk kon zitten met uitzicht op het pleintje. Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding goed daarom zeker een aanrader.

Sehr gutes Guesthaus (wie Hotel geführt) mit feundlichem Personal und sehr gutem Frühstück. Gute Restaurants in der Nähe (Maria's gegenüber und Nelson's Eye ca. 10 Min Fussweg). Herrliche Sicht auf den Tafelberg und den Lions Head. Parken selten nicht auf dem Platz vor dem Hotel möglich (voll). Vorsicht! Nix im Auto lassen (wie immer in RSA)

I omtalen sto det at rommet var 31kvadratmeter og hadde balkong. Dette stemte ikke. Rommet var adskillig mindre og den såkalte balkongen var en smal utvidelse av rommet med vinduer på langveggen. Vi påpekte dette, men omtalen var tydeligvis feil i forhold til hva de kunne tilby. Dobbeltsenga var meget smal og det var vifte på gulvet som ble ganske kraftig. Bortsett fra dette var vi veldig fornøyd med stedet, god service, hyggelig atmosfære og svært god beliggenhet.

Great Hotel
Great hotel. Very friendly staff. We stayed over Christmas and New Years. They were always willing to help when we were trying to organise activities. Breakfast service is a little slow though. However, would definitely stay here again.

We arrived they asked for id I had mine my wife didn't have hers so they refused to let her in surgested we went to police station and spend 2-3 hours getting proof of id we are in our late sixties so we asked for full refund within 10 minutes we checked in capetonion with my id room 911 if anyone wants to check nice friendly staff

The hotel was in a pretty good location, in walking distance of the city centre. There were some great spots to eat right nearby as well, I highly recommend Maria's! The staff were friendly and helpful, and while the rooms were a little small they were comfortable, and ours included a nice balcony with views of Table Mountain. The breakfast included cereal, pastries etc and you can order eggs and meats off the menu as well. We would definitely stay again!

Ikhaya Lodge centrally placed
Ikhaya staff was very friendly. The place is based in a very central location. You have all the basics that you need for a business trip. Perhaps they could put in a work desk.

Centrally situated, beautiful views of Mountain
No problem with booking for this establishment. The staff I met were all out-standing. The room was beautifully appointed with lovely 'African' overtones. Eat to get to central Cape Town for shops etc. Great restaurants opposite hotel on the same square. Good service from shuttle taxi's. Breakfast was very good. Excellent choices of fruit, cereal, breads and cooked full breakfast together with coffee, tea and selection of juices. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!!

A reasonably okay stay but I don't think we'll be going back. The room was freezing cold and the wall heater made no difference. Our room safe didn't work. The location is very convenient though.

What a wonderful, friendly place!!
I had a wonderful experience at Ikhaya lodge, not least because the staff was very friendly and the room was tidy and clean, with a cute little balcony with Table Mountain view. I can really recommend this place to anyone who comes to Cape Town. The hotel is very centrally located in a quiet area.

Hotel liegt günstig
Hotel liegt sehr schön, so das man auf den Tafelberg und den Lions Head schauen kann. Die Long Street ist ca 10 Minuten entfernt, also gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Einzigster Miunspunkt: Nachts ist es sehr laut. Die Lodge liegt an einem kleinen Marktplatz. An einer Ecke ist eine gut und lang besuchte Szenekneipe, so das an Schlaf erst in den Morgenstunden zu rechnen ist.

iKhaya Lodge is very quaint and the staff are very friendly. I could even use the computer available and print my tickets without hassle. It is slightly far from major tourist locations but if one does not mind lots walking that would not be a problem. There is a club/pub right opposite which contributes to noise at night if people decides to stay till late. Other than that I would come back to stay again as the place is beautiful, Table Mountain is in view and I just love the whole ambience of this place!
