Gorgeous George by Design Hotels

"Gorgeous George is a fantastic hotel. Nice location for the CBD, Company Gardens, various of the museums etc. The hotel has wonderful character, its full of art and crazy collections of things. The staff are wonderful, they are the best. Such a welcome and they make you right at home. The Gigi restaurant is fantastic too, great food. The rooftop setting is perfect. We also hired the Pink Room for an event. this is a great venue and everything ran perfectly and our guests commented on what a great place it is. It gets a bit more lively on a Friday / Saturday night, there is a DJ in Gigi and a busy vibe. Its pretty chill in the week though."

"Centrally located with easy walking access to the V & A waterfront area, and across the street from the confernce centre. The rooms are considerably smaller than they appear in the photos, but the linens, pilllows and towels are all very good. The restaurant food is very good, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. For the price, the Hotel Sky is great value."

"A top class experience all round, I have stayed at the Taj Cape Town on a couple of occasions and they always manage to exceed my expectations. All of the staff are both attentive and friendly and the facilities are excellent. Breakfast is a joy with a huge amount of choice and the Spa is lovely."

"I'll start with the positives: - The temperature and shower pressure in the bathroom were amazing! - The views from our room on the 15th floor were stunning. We had a 270degree view of the mountains, plus a balcony. The downside about the balcony was that the hotel would not provide patio furniture, and staff suggested that we move the side chairs from the living room in and out of the room to use on the balcony... - Most of the staff were incredibly friendly! Sandy in housekeeping, Gerald at the concierge desk, and Z in the Copa restaurant stand out! - The location on Loop streeet, close to Long Street, and a couple of blocks from Bo Kaap was awesome. Everything else was a quick/affordable Uber ride away. Cons: - The layout of the one-bedroom suites was a bit awkward. The bedroom was small with minimal walking space on either side of the bed. The closet was also small and awkwardly placed. There was no dining furniture, though there was space for it and the pictures of the room showed a dining table in the suite. The bathroom vanity lacked functional counter space. I really wanted to use the club, but it didn't seem super clean. - Breakfast was very monotonous (same thing every day), and there were not a lot of options other than fruit if you don't eat meat/pork/dairy/eggs. We spent a week and got bored with the food options quickly. There were certain dishes that were quite good and served as consistent fallbacks (smoothies, pancakes, cheese boards)."
