Beautiful gem in Mount Etna

At first we were a bit worried as we couldn't find the hotel in the sat nav, but then after we put in the coordinates we found on google maps, we found the gorgeous, serene and peaceful Ai Vecchi Crateri Hotel! We had the beautifully designed room 9 which is on the 1st floor with the view of the hotel's outdoor and pretty communial area. This hotel was a very pleasant surprise for us, as nowhere around Mount Etna, had we seen such delicate and beautiful, art and design come together to blend into a wonderful homely and comfortable place to stay. The hotel is run by a family whom pay a lot of importance to satisfying their customers and are so good at making you feel welcome. Michelle served us, and he knows a little English and communicating with him was easy. Definitely recommend this hotel!!

Ubicación excelente para visitar el Etna, pero los servicios del hotel dejan que desear. Nevera de la habitación no funcionaba, la televisión necesitaba una cuña de madera para que el conector pudiese enchufarse. El restaurante comida básica sin mas.Desayuno servido a la mesa pero limitado a tostadas y un pedazo de plumcake.

Quite ok value for money.

This place is a nice little house outside Etna. We stayed there one night spontaniously. the family that owns the place was very friendly and the house is an old stone house and the rooms has great potential! unfortunately the air con did not work and the shower did not have much power, also the electricity broke many times during the night which meant an emergency light went on in our room, not what you need when you´re trying to sleep. the hotel was so pretty! but it felt it needed some small updates. the food in the restaurant was great, the breakfast was very small. in total: a nice stay for the quite small money.

Eine Nacht am Ätna

Das Hotel befindet sich in der Nähe des Ätna-Kraters und was für uns mit unserem Mietwagen daher super gelegen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Bergblick gebucht und waren daher etwas überrascht, dass es nur ein kleines schräges Fenster am Dach gab, das natürlich keine Aussicht gewährte. Das Zimmer war sonst sehr klein, aber zumindest mit Klimaanlage. Außerdem war das Zimmer nicht gut abgedichtet, man höre die Personen im Nebenzimmer reden. Alles in allem ist die Unterkunft doch relativ sarnierungsbedürftig. Das Personal war extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Auch das Essen war fantastisch! Die Lage und das freundliche Personal haben den Aufenthalt für uns doch zu einem sehr positiven gemacht und für eine Nacht ist die Unterkunft durchaus empfehlenswert.

Even though this place is very isolated, there is a magnificent view of the live volcano on Mount Etna. Surprising as it may seem the resort contains all the necessities you would find in a city center. One drawback though, the staff barely speaks English so communication tends to be troublesome at times.

Bra men svårhittat hotell

Ingenting för er som inte har bil. Oerhört svårt, tog två och en halv timme, att hitta fram till hotellet och omöjligt att göra eller se något om du inte har bil. Högt upp på Etna utan teckning för mobil och mitt ute i ingenting. Trevlig personal dock även om endast en eller två pratar någon engelska.

Silenzio e relax nel Parco dell'Etna.

La struttura si trova sulle pendici settentrionali e più boscose dell'Etna, ottimo punto di partenza per escursioni. La colazione è essenziale, non abbondante. L'alloggio è pulito. Il personale è amichevole e disponibilie. La cucina del ristorante offre piatti locali a prezzi ragionevoli, sicuramente da provare. L'atmosfera che si respira è molto piacevole e rilassante sia dentro l'albergo che fuori nel parco. Attenzione: la struttura si trova in posizione piuttosto remota e può risultare complesso da raggiungere soprattutto in auto di sera, ma si incontreranno strategici cartelli 'AiVecchiCrateri' ed indicazioni lungo la strada.

The staff and the hotel are friendly, luch was really delicious, but breakfast was too small and finally we had to pay for the coffee at breakfast, although it was advertised to be built into the staying. Room was clean, but the rangehood in the toilet was too loud.
