The caretaker was wonderful and so friendly. When our arrival was highly disrupted by Etna spewing ash causing our flight to be diverted to Trapani causing us to arrive at 6am instead of 10pm, he was very welcoming and reassuring throughout the process. The rooms as comfortable and could be made quite dark, cool and quiet to enable us to sleep even if it was from 6am-12pm or going to bed closer to dinner time (8pm) than night time. The location is also unbeatable for walking access to lots of different areas (both the city central and less touristy spots. I would absolutely stay here again. The only reasons I don’t give this place 10/10 is the bed was not the most comfortable (but still comfortable enough) and the shower was a bit tight.

Will stay here every time I come to Catania. Incredible service, friendly staff, and quite the hotel room especially for the price. They welcome you like family, and it was perfect. I loved every moment of our stay here.

What a rare gem this hotel was. It's like stepping back into time (and space). So many beautiful details everywhere. Location to die for as well. The owner/host was such a lovely gentleman too. 11/10. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Catania.

Overall great

Overall, our stay was good. The service was excellent and the location great. The toilet didn’t work properly, but help arrived immediately. It was only a temporary fix, which was fine for one night. The repair was scheduled for the next day, after we had already checked out.

Wonderful people, as my plane did not leave until 6 pm, the let me stay until 3.30 pm even though check out was at 11 am 😃 As a solo traveller the neighborhood felt safe, everything was in walking distance and the view from the balcony was mesmerizing.

The gentleman checking me in was extremely nice and did his best to help. But parking was a major issue as always in the city though the listing stated parking. The garage I paid for was only a 8 minute walk but with luggage was difficult. The lot across the street from the hotel was open to public first come first serve.

This hotel is quite quirky and may not be to everyones taste but i thought it was fab. Yes, it has a lot of steps to get to it but it keeps you fit and i liked the pulley system to get your luggage up outside the building. The room is spacious and clean with a few old artefacts. The shower in our room was small but lots of hot water and fluffy towels. Breakfast was ok. Location was great as right in centre and ten minute walk to market or five minutes the other way for pubs and restaurants. Being in the centre there was some noise of traffic and late night revellers but not excessive. Great value.
