"I was sadly very disappointed with this hotel. It’s a little isolated and already run down looking (mainleven though I think it’s fairly new (?) , but my biggest concern was regarding the safety and safety procedures and protocols for guests.
My first question has to be, are there any?
The elevators were not working and according to the first employee I encountered at 0830, the elevators had not been working, as well as many of the lights in the building, since 0200. The stairwells were pitch black with no advanced warning for guests prior to entering, there was no system in place to assist guest with
A) Safe Navigation of the building
B) Assistance of guests, especially elderly or those in need of assistance, especially with their luggage.
When I asked about any accommodation regarding these concerns I was met with a blame death stare by the male employee on site, and based on that concerning interaction I was able to speak to a women who identified herself as ‘an assistant manager’ who met my concerns with complete contempt and unbelievably rudeness.
Nothing was resolved at all, I left the property with not only a very bad taste in my mouth by the behaviours of the employees I spoke to, but I left very much understanding that if I needed any assistance in this unplanned situation, or if multiple people needed any assistance, there wasn’t going to be any.
This is the exact stuff I’d expect any hotel, never mind one of this size, to have procedures in place for.
