“This is a basic, no-frills old property that has aged well. The rooms are plain, and nothing but coffee in the office for breakfast. I am a traveler who looks for a clean place to sleep and shower; the frills don't matter. This fits the bill for someone who would rather spend their money on other things than frills in a room they will sleep in and be gone from in 12 hours. In cities, cheap hotels attract an element to stay away from, but that type is not touring the back roads of West Virginia.”

“This is an older facility, so no fancy frills, but clean and safe and functioning is most important to me, and for that I must give this place 5 stars. The TV in my room didn't work, but it may have simply been a remote/battery issue. So i slept instead, and that was OK with me, because the bed and the bedding were SUPER comfy. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the room temperature was perfect. I really did enjoy my stay. ”

“They should be more polite form the front desk. There is no high class or low class or why got first. I choose the room and they should give it to me. It was some issue with this hotel with leaking water and toilet and bathtub or showers not clean. Outside of hotel not clean. I will never stay in this hotel no more until they remodel or have a better management.”

“I selected here because of close to Timberline Ski Resort during last ski season. In peak season it needs to book ahead of a month. Room was small, but super friendly staff and comfortable bed, clean room. Best one is good room rates if booking available in Canaan Valley. Recommend strongly!”
