Historical stay

All in all the hotel is unique! They have many rooms hidden in the back, some can get lost with the floors and stairs, but once you know your way it is fine. The location is great, in the heart if the square. Restaurant has the services that one would want and the breakfast selection was complete. Replenishment was also quick and frequent. Overall, a very nice experience! Parking is the only negative, but they do advise you at the front desk, so your options are clear.

Great hotel with friendly staff

Beautifull Hotel with a really friendly staff. Breakfast is really good with lots of hot and cold dishes to choose from. Only downside is that there is no aircondition so it was really hot at night.

Fantastic place to stay

First class experience all around. Was able to check in early and the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. On day of departure I left early and the even packed a breakfast to eat on the train back to Prague. An extra bonus - Christmas market was right outside during my entire stay. I would highly recommend!!

A very good option in the old centre

The hotel is fantastically located. Very nice. Well refurbished confortable. Don't forget to select superior room and control to have the right room. The size can differ significantly from a regular room. Our room was very large, but located near the compressors and ventilation of the kitchen so not the best for opening the window ... The air conditioning works well. Beds are new and very firm. A private parking available. Good breakfast

Definitely a good find

The desk staff was very nice and the room was REALLY comfortable. The hotel appearance is elegant. The restaurant was much more causal than we thought it would be, and very loud. Food was good. Server pleasant.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the city. A great starting point for sight-seeing, to enjoy the local restaurants or night-life. The staff was friendly all over. Breakfast buffet offered a great variety for everyone. The hotel has a garage (you have to pay) which is an experience itself, as it’s a car lift. Our room was neat and mostly calm, but we could hear the booming bass from a club nearby. However the hotel staff tried everything possible, offered to change rooms and handled the situation very professional. All over I would stay there again, if I come to Budějovice another time.

Short stay at the Grand Hotel Zvon

Room and hotel in good condition and comfortable. The breakfast was very enjoyable and overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The only downside was reception as when we asked for some additional milk shortly after arriving (only 2 little capsules were left in our room) we were told some would be sent to our room BUT none came. Disappointed as other hotels we have stayed always obliged.

The location is very convenient, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. The staff were excellent—friendly and responsive to all requests. However, the room was slightly smaller than expected and lacked central AC, which is normal for this area. Instead, a portable AC unit was retrofitted to the room.

Avoid room 217 in the summer, it was extremely hot in there (my nephew was next door in 216 and their room was fine). When we brought it up to the receptionist she said others complained about room 217 too, I don't know why they keep assigning it to guests. The room itself was very nice (the toilet seat was dirty though), breakfast was excellent, lots to choose from. Great location.

A Stay Straight Out of a Time Capsule

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the charm of a bygone era, Grand Hotel Zvon is the place for you! Located right on the stunning main square of České Budějovice, the location is truly chef’s kiss. But step inside, and you might wonder if you’ve accidentally entered a period drama—just without the fancy costumes or dramatic plot twists. Check-in and check-out were smooth, though don’t expect any grand welcomes (unless you count being handed a key card with quiet efficiency). The furniture has a certain “vintage” appeal—whether intentionally or because it simply hasn’t been updated in a while, I’ll leave to your imagination. Breakfast was… there. Not bad, not amazing, just existing in its own perfectly average way. But hey, for the price, it’s a solid deal. If you’re after a central location and don’t mind décor that whispers “remember the good old days?”, Grand Hotel Zvon is a great choice. Just don’t expect a grand anything beyond the name.
