Highly recommend staying at Alcanea. Eva, our host, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The staff/service was great. And the complimentary breakfast offered lots of local options and all were delicious. Best part of this stay was the view and location. The view of the port was awesome with the water, local bars/shops, and mountains in the distance. And there were dozens of restaurants and shops offering all we might need/want. This hotel made Chania feel like home.

One of those rare times when the place was as beautiful if not better than the pictures. Clean, well maintained, great location. The staff was very kind and Eva was a great communicator, stopped by to say hi at breakfast our first morning and was very hospitable.

Extremely well located property with beautiful views over the harbour entrance. Very friendly staff who came out to find us when we were close to the hotel. Lovely, spacious room with high ceilings, comfy bed and excellent shower room. Great balcony with expansive views. Breakfast menu suited all tastes and was served on the front vine covered terrace.

I had a truly lovely stay at this hotel. The communication prior was excellent, they were extremely helpful in answering my questions and organising further requests. I was later to arrival than expected but Eva was so kind and understanding, she showed me the room and the amenities of the hotel. She had a very friendly persona and a wonderful smile that made a beautiful end to my holiday in Crete. The bar underneath was an excellent hub to sit and people watch, enjoy the views and have a drink. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Free breakfast was well organised and delicious, extremely appreciated. I really loved the garden and additional seating areas within the hotel, I felt I could really relax in safety whilst travelling solo. I stayed here alone and would not hesitate to come back or recommend to friends!

Yes, the menu offered a variety of fresh plates every day, along with tea and choices of coffee. We are travellers from Canada and we were made very welcome. Surrounding the area there are many cafes offering a large variety of lunch and dinner menus and the area is very pleasant to walk. The room we had was very spacious , the bed very comfortable and the bathroom offered an excellent shower with lots of hot water

How amazing is this property! Nothing is less than perfect. The wonderful staff, the wonderful Eva and the staff who served us breakfast. Speaking of breakfast- wonderful selection and quality. Eva was so attentive, friendly and helpful Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful views from our balcony. Just magical and picturesque I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Chania A++++

We only stayed one night, but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Eva was so helpful in getting us settled in, setting up a taxi to the airport, truly amazing hospitality. It’s a beautiful building with great views of the harbour. Can’t beat the location either!
