Schooner Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"Our room is not too clean. A unclean teaspoon was left on the bathroom sink upon check in. No rubbish bin inside the toilet. No toiletries, so you must bring your own toiletries. No fresh toilet rolls were given to us. We were offered breakfast when we checked in so we bought breakfast for 2 adults & 2kids. We didn’t get a clear breakfast timing when we asked. So on check out day, we check out at around 10:30am and asked for breakfast. We were told no more breakfast is served, so then I asked for a refund as I bought it separately. I was told that no refund for that, they offered sandwich & cereals. We were given 2 slices of toast instead, 2 cereals. I paid £39.50 for that. It would have been better if we were refunded for that breakfast. But they insisted they’ll make sandwiches but no sandwiches were served. I don’y have high standards when it comes to hotels/hotels but this experience is just too disappointing."

The Lindisfarne Inn - The Inn Collection Group
6/10 Okay
"Was surprised it was a motel-style setting with windows overlooking the car-park. Quite a bit less picturesque compared to all other places we stayed on St Cuthbert’s Way. Food at dinner was good but a bit pricey compared to other inns and there was no table-service."

Bailiffgate Hotel
6/10 Okay
"This is hotel is in excellent position for the Alnwick castle and town.Though car park is downhill then staff is at hand to help with luggage. We found that staff were too eager to serve / attend to unseen needs- especially breakfast seems chaotic with little choice with either cooked breakfast or a limited breakfast bar with no fresh bread. We also found the evening menu limited with focus on meat. Within the hotel there was no area for residents to relax except for a thorough fare conservatory - the bar was unwelcome and with staff busy talking to themselves behind a forest of chairs. Rooms are nice but overflowing with mini packs of all sorts leaving little room to put the toilet bag on a shelf or ability to use the coffee table. Despite the above then we will probably come back if need to as there were a few excellent staff who made for a relaxing stay"

Dirty Bottles
10/10 Excellent
"A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were in room 3 which had a challenging set of stairs, no lift due to nature of the historic building. Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities. A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park. Breakfast was first class value. The room was spacious excellent shower and roll top bath. Bar facilities very good small outside beer garden. Plenty of Sky Ports TV screens in the bar, Saturday night there is a disco in the bar. Not for us but it did not bother us. All round brilliant place."

Hillcrest House Bed & Breakfast
10/10 Excellent
"Ideal location- lots of eating places within 300 yards. Good clean room, good breakfasts and very helpful host. Finding a parking space on the street could be tricky."

The Bamburgh Castle Inn - The Inn Collection Group
6/10 Okay
"Great location and nice pub. Parking on site is very limited but there is a large public car park very close. Staff were fine. One or two smiled and were friendly but the rest seemed quite miserable although they did the job effectively. Cleaning staff in the accommodation were lovely. Food was functional but after the first night didn’t bother eating there again. Downside was our room. It had a lovely view but was in the rafters and getting in and out of bed was treacherous as you’d either bang your head or back due to the tight space and room slope. Just as well a fan was provided as it was a very stuffy and quite uncomfortable space."

Purdy Lodge
8/10 Good
"Good room with a distant view of Bamburgh castle"

Beadnell Towers Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great place for a visit to the local area. Staff are friendly, room was superb and food was excellent"

Macdonald Linden Hall Golf & Country Club
4/10 Poor
"The hotel does not live up to the advertising. It is not aging well. The lift was broken throughout our stays. The floors are extreme creaky and you hear everybody moving throughout the building. The doors to the rooms slam shut and again can be heard by all. The room my wife and I were put in had a sloping roof that made accessing one side of the bed a difficult process."
