Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Aigueperse escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight can be as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left for other occasions. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you for it.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a pair of compression socks is also recommended.
