Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Alcanices vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, fuel and fireworks. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and items that could harm passengers, such as firearms and swords, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and take a cardigan in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Opt for flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your main luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help lower your risk.
