We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through the airport and exploring Alma in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel docs, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll touchdown feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and items that could harm other people, such as swords and batons, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to bring a sweater as the temperature can drop in the cabin. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
