No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of top travel tips that will get your Arthel escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by wearing layers, and pick flat, enclosed footwear like slip-ons.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and ankles moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
