No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Asini vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight is as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare for changes in temperature by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
