We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and exploring Aston Bay in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by layering up, and wear slightly roomy, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
