Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Athens could be completely stress-free or it could drag on forever. We've put together some handy tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, official ID, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you intend to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and opt for flat, closed-toe footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
