Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Aurora vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and opt for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.
