We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and discovering Aveton Gifford before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up, and pick flat, easy-to-remove shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
