Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Balea escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
