- First and foremost, pack in your passport, travel documents, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your number one priority when choosing what to wear on board. Consider your footwear choice carefully too, as swollen feet and ankles are quite common. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy work well.
- Most travelers are aware of DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to lower your risk. Wear compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and get your legs and feet moving. Walk around the cabin when possible or perform exercises in your seat.
