We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a ball in Blossom in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, official ID, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll arrive feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and take a cardigan as it can get chilly inside the cabin. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a wise idea.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
