We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and having a ball in Cambados in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a great flight experience is to pack in advance. Start with the essentials: passport, travel documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic devices or a thrilling book. It's also smart to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Finally, don't forget to chuck in toiletries like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a fresh set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a sweater in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
