No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Chamois vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, official ID, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet crammed with your favorite movies are good options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in breathable clothing and don't forget to pack a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin. Pick a pair of roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- The result of lengthy periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a condition that can affect passengers during long flights. The good news is there are ways to reduce your risk of developing it. Drink plenty of water, walk around the cabin as much as you can and wear compression tights or socks.
