Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Charleston could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some useful travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, important documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favorite shows are some terrific options. If you plan to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your legs and feet often.
