Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will get your Chile vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good read. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up, and wear flat, closed-toe footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
