Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Colonnella escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
