We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be zooming through the airport and enjoying Conger in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a cardigan just in case you get cold. Always go with roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your main luggage.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks can also help.
