Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Desio vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack in your passport, travel docs, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favorite shows are some great options. If you intend to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you hop off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a cardigan in case it gets cool in the cabin. Always opt for well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
- Most travelers have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to mitigate your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression tights or socks, drink lots of water and move your legs and feet. Wander around the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
