Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Edward escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you plan to take a short nap, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and choose shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
