We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and discovering El Cerezo in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
