Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Elands Bay vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
